Result

This has been a week of hospitals and doctors
and lots of pain!
I've had the x-rays and the MRI scan
and was pretty sure where the problem lay
after seeing the Orthopaedic Surgeon.
Looked very much like it was my Meniscus.
Last night I came home and decided to move some
plants around...water them etc.
Being of independent mind I stood on the chair
and 'ping'!! something went in my knee.
Oh, the agony!
Dreadful.
Barely moving.
Hardly walking.
Climbing stairs??!!
No better this morning so I rang the GP's.
Went there....eventually seen (long story)
and with a discussion between GP and hospital
it was confirmed that  I have torn my medial meniscus.
The one on the inner side of my knee.
What to do?
We went for crutches.
Luckily I know quite a bit about them so didn't need
any help.
My appointment at the hospital is now on Wednesday
so a tad sooner.
I am hoping for a quick resolution.
I am not liking this one little bit!!!!

Today

there is an early mist.
There is the threat of rain and thunderstorms.
Finka wants to go outside.
Two days later and she wants more!!!
Will makes  truly scary Hannibal Lector noise when
he spots a large pigeon on the fence.
He gets very excited.
Pound for pound he outweighs the bird
but he still cannot fly!!
Bird remains defiant and sits on the fence
cooing.
Will is not amused.

Today I have my MRI scan but first
I am going to very slowly wander through
the garden centre with Gloria
spending more time in the coffee shop than
buying plants but I hope to find two
new house plants for the windowsill.
Will has devastated the two that have been there
from the day we moved in here but they are now
incredibly tatty and bitten to death.
Time for something new.
Will proof plants are hard to find.
Cactii????

Sun?!

So yesterday was glorious!
Finally!
I set to and racked all the moss and weeds from between the slabs in the back garden
although I did sunbathe between halves..
well, the opportunity doesn't come
along that often!
Even Finka ventured out for a while.
Will too but under tight supervision.
So long as Finka remains in the garden
he does too.
Just the front to weed now and that is a task
I am putting off because of my leg.
I did weed kill everything to give me a head start
but I really need a magic fairy to pop along
and just get rid of them!!!

This afternoon is my hospital appointment.
I have no idea what the problem with my leg is
and have given up guessing.
It can be nothing or something, one of the two.
When I rest and am fairly inactive it is okay.
When I go up and down stairs it hurts.
When I walk to the end of the road it is painful
and any further, excruciating.
So time to find out.
Wish me luck!

Wet weekend

dragging into the week here!
Nothing but rain, rain and more rain.
Its the end of May for goodness sake!!
Not so long ago we had temperatures of 28C
at this time of year.
I wanted to get out in the garden yesterday but
instead I stayed in and read.
All part of the leg resting treatment!
I got brave this morning and rang for an appointment.
Slightly unnerved to hear I already have one!
So I am going next week for the scan and to see the surgeon.
Apparently!
I'm sure it is all fine but I am not a good patient
and definitely don't have a high pain threshold.
I don't like injections or being poked and prodded.
I don't like having to talk about my ailments to doctors.
I keep hoping that if I sit still long enough it will get
better all by itself.
It won't this time so I will go along and take
it as it comes, right?

Perhaps a cake might help?

Update

For the past couple of months I have been suffering
from a wonky leg.
And it is just not getting better.
I finally had to go to my GP this week.
And now it appears I have to see
an Orthopaedic Surgeon at the
hospital and have scans etc.
I m not amused.
I was thinking more along the lines of some
physio myself.
I had been hoping time would be that greatest
of healers.
I was ignoring the symptoms too well.
I have stocked up on painkillers again.
I am not  a happy bunny at all.

An invitation to a
Silver Wedding Celebration!!
Wow....
I shared it with the other invitee
and its looking hopeful.
Thank you. xxxxx

Feels like Sunday...

but it's only Thursday!
A Bank Holiday Thursday at that!
Ascension Day.

When I was at primary school in Guiseley
in Yorkshire, it was the day we all went on the
School Trip.
I went to a Catholic School so there were hymns
to be sung, my favourite being
"May is the month of Mary."
I don't believe I have heard it sung ever since
so we are talking 0ver 40 years ago...
but I remember the tune and the chorus
to this day.
Good memories.

Today I went with the hoards to Intratuin
to take advantage of the 20% discount
to buy my climbing plant and pot.
We have a lovely outdoor wall hanging by
the back door and my idea is to cover the wall
with greenery and have the picture 'framed'
in the middle.
The first climber I planted grew during the first year
but sadly did not last year...so now it has gone.
I wanted something fast growing, pretty leaves
and amazing in the autumn.
Fingers crossed that is what  I have bought!!

I went on to tidy under the edges everywhere
before sitting for a while.
I still have to face the tile cleaning.
It will come.
Probably soon as I know I need to do it!
A deadline for myself usually helps.
Or people coming to sit in the garden........

ah well, tomorrow its a working day so
no long weekend for me.

Truism....

“The truth is that our finest moments are likely to occur when we are feeling deeply uncomfortable, unhappy or unfulfilled.
For it is only in such moments, propelled by our discomfort, that we are likely to step out of our ruts and start searching for different ways or truer answers.”

Recovery

I lost the password in my head for my blog!

I have made a new one.
I think it is about time I wrote something here again.

But not now.
Now I need breakfast, see the cats,
put the washing on,
get my hair cut,
and sit in the garden for the sunniest of days!!

Happy sunshine to everyone!
