Quiet period

I must be in one.

Lost on the Doldrums.

All at sea.

Away with the fairies.

Lost in trans/contemplation.

Quiet as a mouse.

Just plain not talking I guess!!!

It will come good again.

Absent for a while

We have been enjoying visitors here for the past few days

so not a lot of time for blogging posts.

It has been great.

We have been here, there and everywhere

and all good.

The Keukenhof is not fully in bloom so

don't go there for another couple of weeks!!!

It is still lovely but the amazing sight of all the tulips

in bloom is not one to miss.

Some of the displays were not even shooting

but the Orchids were fantastic.

We were all disappointed by the presentation of 

the English displays since it is the theme this year.

It just did not compare to what I have seen previously

and we were bitterly let down by it all.

Amsterdam another day and the Rijksmuseum

to see the newly refurbished rooms etc.

All very impressive and way too large for a short trot round.

We saw the Night Watch of course . . . . .wow.

Anyway, everything we did went off smoothly and 

to the delight of our guests so what more can we want?

Tim had his birthday as well - 20, my goodness, how

the years have flown!!!! 

No more teenage years - just two adults more in the family!!

Will was the star of the show, no doubt about that!!!!

He has an endearing personality that excuses his naughtiness

for much of the time, and he was magnificently behaved

when asleep.

And so back to normality and work and everything that

I usually get up to!!!

Nice while it lasted though....

Irritable BS

and I am not talking about my bowel!!

No, the irritation is also not really the fault of 

the Bank but...having sat and made phone call

after phone call sorting out problems that have 

arisen in my account through no fault of my own

I am definitely Irritated!!!!

It makes one feel so guilty.

Having been a victim recently of someone

using my account to fund their own expenditure

I am more than cautious about things now.

I check and double-check that it's correct.

I send out emails enquiring whether it is the company

that has actually made the debit and not someone else.

This morning I finally got an answer and I will be 

able to get my money back.

That it is the fault of someone I know this time

makes it even more irritable!!!!

Perhaps if one has money to spare or to waste or 

to simply give away carelessly

one doesn't mind.

But I do.

I have so little in the first place that it 

matters incredibly to me.

So thank you to the company and the 

person on the phone who very 

kindly made it all ok again just now.

I appreciate it deeply.

Happy Birthday

to our friend Gebke who turns

60 today!!!!

We are going to her 'do' later this afternoon.

I've spent this morning making a 

huge Chicken Balti Curry with

Raita and Laccha to accompany it.

Also the Carrot Cake is coming along nicely!

Just waiting til the last hour to do the decoration

so that it's as fresh as can be.

What to wear . . .next dilemma.

I don't really have any special clothes for

special occasions....

and going through a 'I hate everything in the wardrobe'

phase is not helping!!!

I have to go and look again in a minute or two I suppose..

Tomorrow it looks like a day for the bike.

There is a dijkmarkt in Enkhuizen which we are 

going to visit all being well.

The garden needs some work doing

and the bedroom too . . .

but a free day is something to be treasured so

I think I know what will win out.

We have, and the first week was fine.

Less intensive screaming from the public so 

we could actually hear the singing.

Good voices, good judging....

better than last year so far.

Time to sit on the bed and contemplate the wardrobe contents!!!
